XPAL-6000 overview

XGY XPAL-6000 is the higher-power high precision programmable AC load of the XPAL pair, with a rated load power of 6000 W for testing larger AC sources. Run from a program or by hand, the XPAL-6000 loads an AC source at a fixed voltage with a set power, current or resistance.

The XPAL-6000 load function has a rated current of 54 A at 105 to 135 V and 27 A at 215 to 240 V, double the XPAL-3000 figures, so it is the model to choose when an inverter or battery-pack output exceeds the XPAL-3000 rating.

In operation the XPAL-6000 holds constant power, constant current or a set resistance. The XPAL-6000 samples voltage and current at the same instant with 24-bit A/D conversion at about 8000 times/s, and its high-power-density load components are cooled by forced air.

The XPAL-6000 takes commands from a PC or controller over RS-232 using Modbus RTU, and its chassis is taller and deeper than that of the XPAL-3000.

Communication interface RS-232

Use an RS-232 cable with a DB-9 interface (male to female direct connection) to connect to the serial port of the controller (such as a PC).

Product maintenance

Clean the chassis and panel regularly to prevent dust accumulation at the input and output ports.

Do not place heavy sundries and liquid containers on the chassis.

Avoid working in places with volatile flammable liquids and conductive fiber dust.
